How to Avoid ATM Surcharges.
 Use Privileged Status ATMs.
At MetaBank we are proud to offer you a rapidly growing network of over 3,000 surcharge-free ATMs across the country. Our Privileged Status network membership gives you easier access to your checking funds, without the additional expense. Better yet, we do not charge you transaction fees.
As a MetaBank debit card or ATM cardholder, simply look for ATMs that display the Privileged Status logo to avoid surcharges. 
Here’s a list of all Privileged Status ATM locations – complete with a map and directions. You can use the search feature to find ATMs for a specific city or for an entire state and print the results. The list is updated on the 15th of each month.
Use your debit card instead of cash and sign your name on the receipt.
Skip the PIN. When using your debit card, choose “credit” (versus debit or bank card) when making a purchase. This allows you to sign your name instead of entering a PIN. Your checking account will be debited within two to three days. The authorization process assures that you have the money in your checking account to cover the purchase.
Ask the merchant to withdraw additional cash when you make a purchase.
Make payments online with Bill Payment. The funds are automatically taken out of your checking account so you avoid using cash and writing additional checks.
